Welcome to the Wellness Division Blog

Discussing the World of Wellness and all of its Wonderful Collisions and Divisions, as we Read Between the Lines

Wellness; it's quite possibly one of the most overused terms in today's health narrative, and I was a little apprehensive to use it, to jump onto the 'wellness' bandwagon. But I see it as an opportunity to delve into this somewhat fluffy concept from different angles, to explore different approaches to what wellness really means to people. The brand name's meaning is twofold:

  1. Wellness Division (noun): In its most literal sense, this is your traditional company concept, that has a set space and budget for 'employee wellness' - the division of your company that aims to create a safe and healthy environment for its people.

  2. Wellness Division (verb): The word 'division' in this instance aims to be purposely divisive, to contradict, to debate, to explore its own wellness narrative, because at the end of the day, we all experience the world in our own ways, and so this somewhat universal definition of wellness and self care can also be experienced and shared in unique ways.

Between the Lines

Because sometimes the story is not as apparent as you may have thought; because

sometimes you have to read between the lines a little to really get to the essence of what is being said. Because we live in a world of social media 'perfectionism' and sometimes we have to look past Instagram to see the reality.

I will be writing from my own world experience, involving people from all walks of life to join me in the discussion, with the aim of building an interesting community of readers and blog participants. Let's see where it takes us.

Wellness is What You Make of It

My job as a trainer is an incredibly social one, and working with people is what keeps me going. Don't get me wrong, some days I have to put more effort in than others, but what I enjoy is the energy exchange, the discussion, the mix of opinions. It shows you how we all experience our wellness journeys in our own ways, and I think that's something to talk about.
